Foothill Opens With a Dominant Win

Foothill entered the season with plenty of expectations, and the Trojans wasted little time showing why.

“Seeing the Foothill Trojans up close, they are as good, if not better, as advertised,” Vince Maiocco wrote on Facebook following Foothill’s dominant win over Mira Monte.

Quarterback Ismael Ramirez was nearly perfect, completing all eight of his pass attempts for 131 yards and four touchdowns.

Ramirez connected with Jordan Neilson twice for touchdowns, including a third-down score in the second quarter. Neilson finished the night with four receptions and three touchdowns to lead the Trojans’ receiving attack.

Michael Hanks also found the end zone for Foothill as the Trojans continued to pull away.

Mira Monte got on the board before halftime with a field goal from Josh Montoya, while Braydon Holford provided another highlight with a touchdown on a kickoff return.

Foothill will look to carry the momentum into next week when the Trojans travel to Chavez. Mira Monte will have a bye.
